About

We are looking to explore the term HOME.

With a wide range of origins and cultural backgrounds, we are trying to find out what HOME means for ourselves and others. Hearing it so often, from the mouths of many, we question if it defines us or if we identify with it. And so we ask you, our community of fellow people, to help us in our search for answers! Does the word HOME impact you? If so, please tell us how. We are looking for anything and everything that will express your version of what HOME means to you. If you would like to make something, write something down, or even talk to one of us, we would be grateful for your participation and would be more than happy to lend an ear!

We are currently open for submissions. We are able to accept a wide variety of responses and media, from text and images to audio and video. To find out more, either get in touch at whatshometoyou@gmail.com or check out our Submissions page

UPDATE

The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has changed everyone’s day-to-day life. The UK government is telling us all to ‘Stay home’ to save lives, but we’ve found from the many submissions to this project that ‘home’ doesn’t necessarily mean the building we are forced to stay in during lockdown.

How has the pandemic changed, or reinforced, your view? Has self-isolation changed your relationship with ‘home’? What does home mean to you? Let us know at the email address above. Let us know at whatshometoyou@gmail.com

The Home Is… project is founded by a group of UWE MA Curating students. To find out more about us, click here.
